Bread Omelette

Parent Note (Up)

Breakfast for 1 (2 sandwiches).

Ingredients

  • 2 Eggs
  • 4 slices of white bread
  • Butter
  • ~0.25 Onions (diced)
  • ~0.25 Tomato (diced)
  • 1.5 green chillis (chopped)
  • Salt & red chilli powder
  • ~3tbsp of milk
  • Mayonaise and garlic chilli paste (or equivalent)
  • 2 cheese slices

Other Requirements

- Frying pan (tava) + Spatula
- Toaster
- Microwave

Steps to Prepare

  1. Break open 2 eggs in a cup (make sure no shell falls in)
  2. Add the chopped onions, tomato and green chilli and mix the egg with it so that the white and yolk are completely blended
  3. Add 1 tsp of salt and 1 tsp of red chilli powder and mix to make sure no grains of powder remain unmixed
  4. Add ~3tbsp of milk and mix to make the omelette fluffier when finished
  5. Add ~1tsp of butter to the tava and wait for it to heat up and melt, then spread it across the tava
  6. Pour the egg mixture uniformly across the tava, spread it evenly and allow it to cook
  7. Use the spatula after ~45+ seconds to check if the bottom layer is solidified and well done
  8. Once the bottom is well done and the top is not very flowy, use the spatula to flip the omelette over cook the other side
  9. Cook both sides till the omelette is well done (not crisp and not flowy)
  10. Tava toast the bread by similarly putting some butter on the tava and lightly toasting both sides of each slice
  11. Use mayonaise and garlic chilli spread to cover one slice each of each sandwich, or use another spread to cover both sides
  12. Cut the omelette to shape and place it on one side of each sandwich
  13. Add the cheese slice on top of the omelette and close the sandwich
  14. Serve with some ketchup
